About Manitowoc Mutual
History
Manitowoc Mutual Insurance Company was founded in 1874 in the town of Manitowoc Rapids, Wisconsin. The company wrote only fire insurance in Manitowoc County for 110 years. In 1985 Manitowoc Mutual expanded its business to write Homeowners and Farmowners coverage. Over a four-year period from 1996 to 2000 the company merged with several mutuals including Hartland-Richmond, Eastern, Liberty Grove, Mishicot, and Crystal Lake-Utica Mutual. These mergers resulted in an expansion from writing only in Manitowoc County to writing in nearly thirty-three counties.
Currently, Manitowoc Mutual writes statewide. Additionally, our company writes Homeowners, Farmowners, and Commercial insurance. We are the thirteenth largest farm insurer in the state of Wisconsin.
